Hello everyone,
For two days I'm trying to make the following work. I hope someone has some insight and can help me with this.
I also attached a full debug log file, which is hopefully helpfull.
Receiver
iMac 12,2 with native Windows 10 installed (version 1809)
with USB 2.0 cable attached
Wacom Intuos (CTL-6100WL) with tablet driver 6.3.33-3 installed and working.
HP Remote Graphics Receiver 7.6.0.18584 installed
Sender
HP Z820 with native Windows 10 installed (version 1809)
HP Remote Graphics Sender 7.6.0.18584 installed.
(Previously Wacom Intuos (CTL-6100WL) with tablet driver 6.3.33-3 installed and working -> now I moved this to the Receiver machine. Driver is still installed)
Network:
Gigabit LAN
Can someone please confirm that the pressure sensitivity of Wacom Tablets is suposed to work with HP Remote Graphics Software and two Windows Machines ? I'm sorry I have to say this, but I find the UserGuide and the Homepage really vague.
(i.e. the homepage mentions: 3. Not all USB devices supported. Remote USB not supported on Linux® Sender. See user guide for more on USB devices. So which devices exactly are then supported ? If Remote USB is not supported on Linux -> it must be supported on Windows and OSX then...NO, RGS on Max OSX not even has the option for Remote USB )
When I used the default installation options for the HP RGS Receiver, I can use the Wacom Tablet but unfortunatelly the device is not attached in my sender machine via Remote USB. So, the Wacom driver on the sender does not find a tablet, no settings for pressure sensitivity are available and tests in show that there is NO pressure sensitivity.
Also, I have to say, when installing RGS with Remote USB configuration set to default "USB devices are Local/Remote" I can not even get a USB stick to work by the "plug-in when RGS is running" method suggested in the UserGuide.
I then uninstalled - restarted - reinstalled RGS again, this time with the Remote USB options set to "USB devices are Remote".
With this option, set I actually do get the Wacom tablet to show up in the device manager of the sender machine.
Unfortunatelly the Wacom Tablet device on the sender machine has an error:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR
Of course I tried various things (disable/enable to force a reboot, reinstall drivers, etc...) the error is still here.
Of course I simplified the above steps, I have tried many other things which didn't have an effect at all: like editing the registry and making entries for each USB device to manually set USB Remote Mode. As it is also suggested in the manual you could do if you want to. I didn't want to, but I thought I give it a shot, maybe it would change things...it did not.
The last thing I've detected is, that there are some errors in the log file of the receiver machines session (I've set it to debug level, to really give as much information as I can):
ERROR - IOCTL_HPPUSB_SHM_DOWN_DATA_AVAILABLE failed in WinPhysicalUsbReceiver

For me it seems impossible to debug any further with the information I have now. The log file seems to output only very HP RGS specific information and I can't find much on google.
I would really like to see pressure sensitivity and Wacom working on this setup. In the long run it would give me many more options how and especially where I could work. I guess that's also what the new Ad's are showing...but I don't know why, in this moment, for me, the time seems not to be ready.
Please, if you have a working HP RGS Wacom Tablet Setup with Pressure Sensitivity working, please tell me so that I don't give up on HP and their Remote Graphics Software.
I've seen other guys had Space Mouses working...so I guess, it should be doable, shouldn't it ?
If you've come this far:
Thanks a lot ! If you need even more information...just ask me, I will try to help as good as possible.

I finally did, what I should have done first and read the FAQ for version 7 of RGS pdf which is provided by HP.
Unlike the manual, or the webpage in the FAQ it is not vaguely statet, that Wacom with Pressure Sensitivity currently ONLY works from Linux to Linux. Also on Linux you can't have both working at the same time: Remote USB & Wacom. Only one at the time can work (mutally exclusive).
In a way it's also good to see that there is, for once, a feature just working on Linux. Usually Linux has the most features not working out of the box. If only Adobe and many others would start to support Linux....
Maybe as a suggestion to HP UI designers: leaving everything that does not work just completely out of the UI is sometimes not the best solution from an users perspective.
For example: on the OSX reciever, the option for Remote USB is just completely missing...so it took me a while to get that I'm suposed to not have this option and wasn't just overlooking it (greyed out, with info that feature is not available on OSX would have made it immediatelly clear).
Also, would it have hurt, to specify more clearly what devices are expected to work with remote USB and what devices might give trouble, instead of braging that you support all four USB transfer types (bulk, isochronous, interrupt, and control) ? This lead me to the conclusion that most devices would just work. As in "Remote USB" which is like "local USB" but Remote, you know 😉
HP has a lot of user guides for older versions floating in the internet. Google of course picks them up. So the first manual I've read was for 7.2 version, where it was not clearly statet, that Remote USB is not working with OSX as it is statet in the latest manual for 7.6 version.
My fault I know.
I guess I just wanted my Windows/OSX boxes to work remotelly with Wacom and Pressure sensitivity too bad to accept the facts. So I really hope HP will provide Support for Wacom Pressure Sensitivity on Windows (and hopefully also on OSX) with version 8 of RGS.
Case closed.
