Thanks for joining HP Community!

Could you please help me with the operating system of the computer?

Are you facing the same issue while making a copy?

I also have a J4680 printer and it just recently started printing blurry. I recently replaced the black ink (with HP) and ever since it's been not printing word documents or PDFs clearly. All the cartridge alignment prints, test print page, etc come out perfect, but documents, no. I'm trying to print an IRS form and IRS rejects it because it is blurry. Copying works fine, not blurry.

@CSPolski, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To assist you better, I'd want to know the following-

  • What is the Operating System installed on your computer?
  • Have you tried printing from a different application apart from the mentioned ones in your post?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

and i just printed something and it's not blurry, but as mentioned by others in other posts, the print has a shadow, which makes it look blurry.

I downloaded adobe acrobat reader since I didn't like the touch version. So i'm just printing from an open adobe reader window and it still comes out looking like double print. The type in the soft/online version looks completely clear.

Please print a Quality diagnostic page and let me know how it prints

  1. Load plain white U.S. letter or A4 size paper in the tray.

  2. On the control panel home screen, press the Setup icon .

  3. Press the button  next to the Down Arrow  until Reports displays next to OK.

  4. Press the button next to OK to select Reports.

  5. Press the button next to the Down Arrow  until Print Quality Report displays next to OK, and then press the button next to OK. The report prints.

I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
