Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I installed new ink on my Deskjet 3521 printer.  Black ink works fine on all types of paper.  Alignment is done, cleaned the printer heads automatically and performed a second level cleaning.  The printer heads were manually with a wet Q-tip.  I also made sure the ink vents were unobstructed.  It will not print colored ink on any type of paper.   Colored ink does not show on the diagnostics page either.  I followed all of the troubleshooting suggestions on the HP support page.  Nothing works.

It is for the very same reason, after inserting new HP cartridges, unable to print in black ink, then no color,  that a HP printer and 2 brand new cartridges are in the landfill. And I did everything, multiple head cleaning, alignments, wiping heads with distilled water believe me, I did and read everything, all efforts were a complete waste of time and energy. Upgrade the software, forget about it, useless
If the problem is the new HP cartridges I inserted I will never know. HP isn't likely to admit some of their cartridges may be defective nor is HP willing to just replace cartridges because I say they are defective.
I am not a heavy printer, may be 3 pages a month, I just wonder is there a built in expiration date for HP printers?
Along with having Click to Accept as Solution or Click the Kudos Thumbs Up button, there should also be an option to click on a Did Not Work which would be more valuable direct info on what Did Not Work, so they the experts can stop giving out useless suggestions.  So the end result is a perfectly fine printer and 2 new cartridges are now in a landfill and that is what is so terrible and wrong here. My recommendation, start looking for another printer to buy.

Actually, even though the printer heads are "not removable," I took it apart....cleaned everything out manually and put it back together.  After 3 "clean printerhead" pages, it works fine now.   Thanks anyway
