PhotoSmart Plus B210
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had an ink-level problem, so I reset the printer to "factory defaults". Now all my documents print too high on the page. I've turned off and restarted the PC and the printer. I've un-installed and re-installed the printer and the printer driver. I've verified that the the printer's "layout" shows "Letter" for the paper size. I cannot find any setting that will adjust the top margin universally on all printed documents. What am I missing?

Happy New Year to you! Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Photosmart Plus B210 printer and after resetting the printer to the factory defaults, the printing is too high on the page. You have uninstalled and reinstall the drivers and checked the layout and paper size but issue still persists. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Please try to make a copy and check the output.
  • Also, print a test page from the printer and check the output.
  1. Load plain white paper in the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, touch the Setup icon (), and then touch Tools.

  3. Touch Print Quality Report. The print quality diagnostic report prints.

If the printing is again too high then you may align the printer by following the below steps:

  • Load letter or A4, unused, plain white paper into the tray.

  • Turn the printer off and back on.

  • If the printer does not begin to print an alignment page, touch the Setup icon (), and then touch Tools.

  • Touch Align Printer.

  • After the alignment page prints, click OK, and then close the toolbox window.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂
