What do I do when I get the flashing screen of death on my Envy 5530 printer screen? Buy a new one?
I was told to unplug and hold down the on/off button for 20 seconds to reset. Did NOT work.

Hi. I have done the unplug procedure many times to no avail. I had already seen the procedure you put the link in for.
I can't even get it to turn on. It turns on and comes up with a blue screen with a picture of the an on/off button and the letters- C4EBA341, and every light and icon: flashing power button, home, back arrow, last screen, question mark, forward arrow, red X and Bluetooth connect light. The carriage doesn't move, the cartridges are locked in. Nothing else. Like a fish dead in the water.
It reminds me of the old DOS blue screen of death with everything flashing!

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
What are the lights blinking on the printer?
Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
If you continue facing the issue, follow the steps in the below article.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

It looks like a hardware issue, I recommend you contact support to check the available service options for your printer.
Here is how you can get in touch with support.
1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
Cheers!

The printer is worth less than the cost of the fee for sending it in for service. It has been a great printer and I reckon I got my money's worth. Time for a new one.
Now what do I do with my cache of 61 XL black and color cartridges? I have over $200 worth! Can I find a replacement that utilizes the 61?
