Hello All!

I have a HP Officejet 4630 All In One Printer, rarely used. Recently I turned on printer and received an error code of 0X83C0000A no app loader. Printer would not turn on and boot to ready start. I am pretty savvy with fixing things. So with internet knowledge of possible fixes as well as my own, this is what was done to help resolve the issue and try to clear the error code.

1. While in the on position I pulled the power cord out of the back of printer. After power cord was removed I held down the power button to discharge any residual charge. I waited over three minutes reversed procedure and restarted printer with no resolve.

2. I conducted above but added two more steps. I disconnected or powered down the wireless router assigned to printer. I also opened printer lid to expose printer ink cartridges and removed them. I then reversed this procedure, also cleaning out the cartridge bay of any gunk and cleaned the cartridges. No resolve!

3. I deleted the HP printer from my computer and anything related to it. Reinstalled the program and updated via HP all current up to date software, driver and firmware. This update was not done wirelessly but USB direct. No resolve!

4. Printer has a direct power supply with no power strip.

This is what I found while experimenting for a resolve. I opened up the top of printer to expose cartridge area. I hit power button to the on position, while the unit was powering up and before the error message appeared, I jiggled and tapped on the print cartridges. After doing this a few times, the printer turned on. Here is the catch! Its only a temporary resolve. Once started I did a full printer check which included updates, software, firmware,  page alignment, cartridge cleaning. Afterwards printer worked absolutely perfect. If the printer is NOT turned off everything works perfectly and printer goes into sleep mode. If the printer is turned off, the problem starts all over. Then I start again to get it started, powering up, jiggling of cartridges etc…. So I do believe after everything that was done the error code is somehow connected to the resetting or positioning and or mechanism of the cartridge housing.

Please if anyone else has anything to add please let me know what additionally could be done to correct the code.

Thank you!

Please clean the cartridges' electrical contacts with a lint free cloth before performing the Reset

- Turn on the printer.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer. If your printer has a network or wireless connection, leave it connected.
- Remove the ink cartridges from the printer and clean the electrical contacts with a lint free cloth
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
- Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
- Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.

Next update the printer firmware. You can refer to this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Thank you and have a great day 😊

Hello and thank you for the quick reply. I completed everything you listed in my original list and more which I forgot to list, including cleaning the cartridge electronic connections both on the printer and the ink cartridges. No resolve... It's almost like there is a lose wire or contact somewhere related or near the cartridge housing. I have tried everything... It's driving me crazy.! I'm going to leave it on. It will go into sleep mode until I can figure it out. Thank you!
