I have  an HP Deskjet 3520.  I've read that running an ink cartridge low on ink or to the point there is no remaining ink can damage the print head.  Is this correct, does this occur every time, what is the damage and can be repaired ?

Thanks.

@Paperclip88, Welcome to HP Support Community!

As per the manuals, the cartridges need to replaced once they are out of ink or when the printer notifies you to replace them. Leaving the cartridges in the printer may clog the printhead which will result in poor print quality and also sometimes printer failure.

The printhead is not replaceable on this printer and hence repair is not an option.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
