H-P Envy Photo 7855
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I recently purchased a H-P Envy Photo 7855 printer. I think I am going to like it very much. I am trying to print decent photos on HP Heavyweight Project Paper, 8.5" x 11" I am not getting what I would call good quality continuous tone color. It is not the printer as I am getting very nice glossy prints. Can you suggest what printer settings I should use on this matte paper?

Thanks for the reply,

There is no particular print setting to print in matt paper, make sure you select the correct paper size.

Below mentioned are the recommended paper for your printer.

Business documents

● HP Premium Presentation Paper 120g Matte or HP Professional Paper 120g Matte

This paper is a heavy two-sided matte paper perfect for presentation, proposals, reports, and newsletters. It is heavyweight for an impressive look and feel.

● HP Brochure Paper Matte or HP Professional Paper Matte

These papers are matte-coated on both sides for two-sided use. They are the perfect choice for near-photographic reproductions and business graphics for report covers, special presentations, brochures, mailers, and calendars.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

This is a great place to get support, find answers to your technical queries.

I understand that you are not happy with the print quality, need not worry I'll be glad to assist you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Are you using genuine HP ink cartridge?

Is copy working fine?

I suggest you do a Hard Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
