psc 1210 all in one printer
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I've been trying to get my psc 1210 all in one printer going after a long time of inuse.  I changed out the cartridges OK but the printer itself wasn't behaving so I ininstalled the driver with the intention of re-installing it.  I went to HP's website and was directed to the "HP customer support--software and driver downloads" page then selected the "Driver Product Installation Software" option.   So far so good.  A drop-down menu then appeared, reading:

"nstalling Your Printer Driver Using the Windows Built-in Solution

Install the HP Printer Driver and Software provided within your operating system.

Does this mean that hp is, as it seems to indicate, now downloading the driver I need or is it prompting me to seek out the driver "provided within your operating system"?   When I look in my computer's programs file, I don't see anything to indicate that the driver has downloaded and my printer is still unusable.

Can anyone help me with this?  Many thanks!

You will need to use the Windows built-in driver, click here for more info.
