I have some HP Laserjet 700 MFP M775s, and Laserjet 500 MFP M575s that are having a very strange network connectivity issue. I cannot access the printers in any browser using the IP address, the page times out. I've tried Edge, IE, Chrome, and Firefox. We manage the printers using a Web JetAdmin server and they show as having a device communication error, however, I can ping the device and get a reply. We use DHCP to assign the IP addresses and I create reservation for the printer so that the IP does not change. Now, if I delete the reservation, restart the printer it will grab the same IP address, and then everything works for about an hour, sometimes longer, and then I start having the same problems again. I even tried statically assigning the IP address and I still have the same problem. I thought maybe it could be the DNS record so I created records for the printers and that did not resolve the issue. We have over 60 printers on the network and only 16 of them are having this problem. All printers are configured the same. If anyone has any ideas please help.

Usually when we run into this problem we perform a partial clean through the Pre-boot menu and that solves the problem. As the units use a Windows based OS they are subject to corruption just like a desktop.

To enter Pre-boot menu, power off the printer and wait a minute. Turn the printer back on and watch the screen, the HP logo shows on the screen and when the black bar appears under the logo, immediately touch the logo.  Once in the Pre-boot menu, use the down arrow to highight "administrator" and then find the "partial clean" option, press OK and use back arrow to get back to the continue option. Unit will restart and reinstall firmware. You will then need to input your settings again. I bit of a pain for that many units but try one to see if that works.

Thanks for the solution! Before your post I tried doing a cold start which did not work. I did the partial clean as suggested and monitored the print devices for a week and this resolved my issue. Thanks again!
