Welcome to the HP Forums,
We'll be with you until it's all sorted & beyond!
Have you attempted to turn off the web services, to resolve this issue?
After turning off Web Services, your printer can no longer communicate over the Internet with the HP server to access web-connected printing services, such as HP ePrint. Turning off Web Services is recommended if you plan to sell your printer, transfer HP Connected accounts, or no longer plan to use web-connected printing services.
If you are currently using web-connected printing services, the following services, and features do not work after turning off Web Services:
-
HP ePrint: Disables the HP ePrint printer email address.
-
Print Anywhere: Disables the Print Anywhere feature.
-
HP Printer Apps: Disables all HP Printer Apps.
-
HP Instant Ink: Blocks communication between your printer and HP Instant Ink. Monthly enrollment and billing continue.
-
Without Web Services, the HP server cannot communicate with the printer to monitor ink levels. HP Instant Ink cannot send new ink cartridges, and the printer might stop printing. If you enrolled in the HP Instant Ink service, you need to cancel your HP Instant Ink service separately. Go to How to Cancel Your HP Instant Ink Plan.
-
To continue using your HP Instant Ink service, turn on Web Services, and then follow the instructions on the info page to add your printer to HP Connected.
-
Read the section that matches your printer control panel type for steps to turn off Web Services.
-
On your printer control panel, touch or press the HP ePrint icon or button, and then touch or press Settings.
If your printer control panel does not have an icon or button, navigate to Web Services Setup, Network Setup, or Wireless Settings to open the Web Services menu, depending on your printer model.
-
Select Turn Off, Disable, or Remove, depending on your printer model.
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to turn off Web Services.
NOTE:
If you did not intend to turn off Web Services and want to continue using web-connected printing services, go to Setting Up an HP Connected Account.
Let me know how that pans out

I cancelled my HP ink service a long time ago and have bought new cartridges and was printing without incident and now HP is blocking me from printing. I just went and checked my HP instant ink service and it confirms that I am not signed up. HP needs to stop this service. I need help.

@theresamcauli, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
What is the exact error message that you get?
What model printer are you using?
The ink cartridges that you are using, are they HP Compatible ink cartridges?
Keep me posted.

My printer is a Officejet 4560. The ink I am using is HP63 purchased at BestBuy. The error message I am now getting is "Cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink". This error message just started and I was able to use this officejet without any problems previously.
Also, if you might know why my printer goes to into a deep sleep and I have to unplug it and plug it back in if I don't print anything for a couple of days. It won't wake up until I do this.

Thank you for the information. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

OK, I did all that you instructed me to do and I also removed the device from control panel and re-installed it. It still won't release my ink cartridges from hostage. I am ready to throw this printer out and buy a non-HP printer. HP needs to get rid of this instant ink program. HELP
