Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer. I read that the printer is connected wirelessly and you would like the print to be darker. I'll be glad to assist you with this case.
The print quality is measured in print resolution dots per inch (DPI). Higher DPI produces clearer and more detailed prints, but slows print speed and may use more ink or toner. Please refer to the "Printing specifications" from your printer specifications.
You may change the print quality settings to suit your print job. Text-only documents typically require normal or lower quality settings, while photos for framing benefit from higher quality settings.
Please refer to the print settings of your printer through the software you're trying to print from.
Also, the information mentioned under "Print quality and improvement settings" from this HP article will help.
I hope this information helps. Please feel free to keep me posted for any further questions. Cheers! 🙂

hi. ha ha...i had no idea i had posted in any forum. that was a surprise to me. thank you for the information. the concern was that i needed to print out a mailing label and it seemed like it was on the shipping company's website. there was no way for me to do anything other than hit "print" and it would print. there were no settings, choices, etc. it didn't allow me to copy and paste to MS Word, either. i eventually sent it to my laptop and/or saved it as a document. then i had the choices you suggested. i chose to print it as a photo and that gave me the sharpness that i wanted. thanks again.
