Hello, @Shirley1992 - Hope you are well 🙂
Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!
I understand that you are trying to print poster using your Deskjet printer. Microsoft Word is not the right application to create and print a poster. I’d advise you use another Microsoft application – Publisher, to create and print the publisher.
You can find detailed instructions here: http://bit.ly/2uNXjIJ (Follow the steps under “Create a poster”).
NB: Publisher is a part of your Microsoft Office Suite and if you have the Office package installed, the publisher will also be installed on your PC. Search for "publisher" in the Windows search to open the program.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Good luck 🙂
