Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi all, just signed onto the forum, my daughter has the above laptop running the software installed on the laptop at purchase, I created a recovery image disc for the day when the inevitable happened. That was a few days ago when the HDD failed, I purchased and installed another disc, but when I tried to install the recovery disc it failed, I tried several more times, but each time it failed.

This morning, I logged into the HP website to try and download another, only to be met with the message, "contact your manufacturer for service", so, here I am. is there anything HP can do please?

I have the model number, serial number of the machine and the Windows 7 authorisation key.

I am an HP employee.

Hello John,

I would be more than happy to help you with this but I would need some more information.

Could you please provide us with the Product Number (Note: Do not share the Serial Number) and the Model name so that I can help you in a better manner.

Regards

Mathew

Do I have to use HP disks? I have some old parts lying around...

While you don't need to use HP disks, they are absolutely the best on the market.
