Colorlaserjet 2605dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

after what appeared to be successfully installing latest 2605dn firmware, printer appears dead.  I get no lights (pwr) and  no display on the LCD panel after powering on.  I do hear the usual audible indications the printer is starting up but no visual and the printer is now useless.  I've tried reloading etc. but no communications exist with the printer!  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response.  Checked as you suggested and will try the formatter next!

There is an engine test button in the back of the printer. See the attached. If you get an engine test to print, they you will need to order a replacement formatter.

Ordered a replacement (refurb) formatter board.  Did the trick!

Thanks!

I had the same issue and this worked. This is a known error with the Firmware update. It could cause the new firmware not to install correctly and preventing the printer from working. Replacing the board fixed the issue.

If the 2012 firmware update trashes the formatter, why is it still available for download in printer support?

Surely, HP is aware of the problem.  If the plan is to get people to replace their printer with a new one from HP, someone needs to go back to business school.
