After a fresh install of my operating system, I can't get my printer to print.  Not over wireless, direct, or via usb.  However, my mac prints just fine over wireless.  The only thing that will print is the internal test page from HP doctor, not the test page it asks for.

Please help.

Welcome to HP Support Community

I suggest you uninstall the printer driver from Root Level and download the Full Feature Software

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software from Here and follow the onscreen Instructions

Hi.  Thanks for the reply.

Sadly, this didn't work.  I still can't print, wirelessly or via usb cable.  Printer icon shows in task bar for a second or two but "0" jobs in queue.

I unintalled, then removed old drivers, installing the files you linked me to.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

When I install the software, I get all the way to activate, whatever that means and a blank window appears.

Try installing the Windows Built-In driver and let me know how it goes

Thanks for the idea, but I tried that to no avail.  Right now, I'm emailing to my tablet and printing from that.

Let's perform a Ping Test to check if the printer and your computer are on the same Network and Communicating

  1. Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
  2. The IP Address will be listed under 'Network' sub-heading.

  3. Open up a Command Window:
  4. Click on Windows Start Icon.
  5. In the 'Search' Box or 'Run' Box type "CMD".
  6. Click on the 'CMD' or 'Command' Icon.
  7. The Command Prompt Window will now Open.
  8. On the first line type PING then IP Address (EG. PING 10.26.76.1) then hit Enter.

Note: Please ensure that a space is entered between PING command and the IP Address.

  9. If the PING command has worked the Printer should begin responding and you should see the reply in the command window.

  10. If the PING command has failed you will be advised that the "Request has Timed Out" or that the "Host is Unreachable".

  11. If the PING command does fail then the issue may be with the IP Address or another network problem

Keep me posted 😊

Ensure you disable the firewall on your computer and then try printing

If the issue persists, create a new User Account with Admin rights, Log into the new User Account and try printing
