527 MFP

I work for a Bank that has a HP MFP527 printer in their lobby.  this unit was serviced by HP right before the warranty expired in august of 2017.  they frequently get a message on the onscreen control board that says " scanner error, scanner not found" and requires the unit to be rebooted  multiple times a day.  they use the flatbed scanning portion on the unit.  here is the actual error from the device log :

to ths point the firmware was updated in august 2017,  new Scanner Control Board Kit by HP and a new formatter board on this unit-  any suggestions?  HP will not warranty any work done by them nor will they honor the fact that the ticket was opened before the warranty expired and the issues continue.

Hi @WNBTech86,

As I can see at your event log page you are facing a 30.01.41 scanner error. Here is what it is suggested:

30.01.41 Scanner error

The formatter lost connections with the scanner control board (SCB) or communication was corrupted.
Recommended action
  1. Upgrade the firmware. A FW fix has been implemented in 3.8 FW.
  2. Turn the printer off, and then on.
  3. If the error persists, turn the product off, and then check all the cables on the formatter and the SCB for proper connection and seating.
  4. If the issue persists, replace the document feeder.
For instructions: See the Repair Service Manual for this product.

any idea which power supply feeds the flatbed scanner?  I see a high voltage PSU, low votlage PSU and a DC controller board as parts available to replace for this unit.

Have you followed the steps I gave you? At which step are you stuck now?
