I purchased this printer less than a year ago and it has been CONSTANT issues!!! I've never had so many problems with a printer before! I'm fairly tech savvy but by no means a genius and this has me ready to take my 9mm to it.
Basically I can get it to print or scan once, then it will go offline and it'll take me 30-60 minutes trying different things. I ultimately am restarting my laptop and the printer before I can print OR scan again.
I restart the print spooler, have tried all sorts of things from HP's website and other forums. Finally it offered a driver update earlier this month. It downloaded the new driver package, removed my driver and then states I can't install the new drivers because my account isn't in the Administrator group (though it is! I've since put all accounts in the Administrator group and it still won't let me install!!). I can't find the driver disc that came with it but have managed to install the universal driver for my model after removing the printer completely from my laptop and doing a new install. And we're back to having to restart everything before I can print anything.
I've tried the stupid HP print doctor a dozen times that is absolutely useless and never finds anything. I've checked if the firewall is blocking things by turning it off completely but it's not. I've made sure all HP is allowed through the firewall anyway.
Printing Network Summaries, it says both IPv4 and IPv6 are "ready" and under wireless configuration that it's connected and wireless is "on." Yet through my laptop it says the printer is offline. Under enabled features, everything is enabled except FTP printing. Signal strength is "very good" or "excellent" every time.
I am trying to print via WiFi connection. There is nothing wrong with my WiFi. I haven't been able to set up WiFi direct as it tells me it can't connect to the connection each time I try. I've tried manually updating my IP address according to what's on the network summary and the display and it says it can't connect. There's something going on but I cannot figure it out. But this expensive piece of junk is sitting here and after spending many hours on it already, I'm losing patience and just want a printer that works!! (Like my previous Canon worked for over 8 years.)
