I am not an expert on fonts, but I wonder if this issue would also affect other fonts installed in Windows but not Mac OS. And we're just noticing it with 'Calibri' because it is a default font for most/all Office installs.

Go to System Pref > hold your "control" and click on HP Color LaserJet 553 > select "Reset Printing system > add printer back...should fix.HP Screen Shot.jpg

Someone suggested that fix on the Apple discussion platform.

Tried it several times, no change. Also erased all the drivers that are in a hidden printer folder. The system rebuilds a new one... no change.

FWIW - my issue has not re-occured on my MAC / or Windows since I swtiched my MAC to the generic PCL laser printer driver. (I use Windows on MAC with Parallels.)

To piggy back off of this suggestion, I went to into my printer and opened the Printer Utility. From there I went to Upload Fonts, clicked Update Fonts list. Calibri was not listed when it loaded the fonts in the memory. I clicked Add, the Add Font File and uploaded the Calibri files. I just ran a text in MS Word and Excel and both printed. Might be worth a try.

My challenge is I work in a large enterprise environment - with hundreds of possible sites I might need to print at. (Quite a bore this.) So touching the printer settings is not possible. I do get the printer to generate a status report if I need to grab it's IP but otherwise they are locked down.

@bdepaav Printer Utility? Do you find it under MacOs or on your printer? I didn‘t know its possible to upload fonts... Never seen any menu or option for that ...

Look for the app Font Book in app folder

I went to System Preferences and clicked on Printers and Scanners and double clicked on selected my printer. In the printer window, click on Settings and that is where I selected Utility.

Hm, Calibri is installed in my Font Book - but my printer (MFP586) isn't working. I'm from Germany and in our forum

we are discussing the same problem. I contacted HP but they couldn't help. They say, they are working on the problem - and thats it. No reply to my last mail ...
