I don't understand why so many keep mentioning Calibra (kalibra?) as being the probable cause.

I don't even have that font in my Font list and its not in the official High Sierra font list either at https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT207962

I haven't done a full regression test yet. However, I just upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.2. It was released yesterday or the day before by Apple.

Printing on the documents that were having problems "appears" to be fixed. Fingers crossed...

We just had our faculty upgrade to High Sierra 10.13.2 and the problem seems to have been solved. We have been able to print previously troublesome documents with no problems. Hopefully, that good luck continues.

I've upgraded too, and it keeps printing some pdf's without text, only the background will appear.  undefinedresult xshow message keeps appearing on top.

Just chiming in here as I support an office that has a variety of tenants and same are using Macs with High Sierra on and reporting issues with printing of PDFs.

I'm rather limited in the diagnostics or steps I can take as I only support the printers and networking onsite and not the actual users hardware or OS etc.

We have mainly MFP M630 and M880 deployed and it seems to mainly be if printing from Preview that causes the issue, I think using Adobe Reader and using the "print as image" worked for some.

Mark, how do you "print as image"?

IIRC it was these steps that I'd sent over for the user to try.

It appears that we are having issues printing out of Office as well on our High Sierra Macs. The problem is that it seems to be very random. But once it happens, then most printing won't work until you reboot.

Unfortunately, the upgrade to 10.13.2 did not resolve the issue for me.

Thanks Mark,

I tried to print two pdf's I couldn't print normally.

I could indeed print them with Acrobat Reader, even without the "print as image" option.

Thanks for the tip
