I purchase genuine HP LaserJet Toner cartridges for our office on a corporate account we have set up with a large retailer. They carry two different item numbers for the same products claiming them both to be genuine HP products.
Below is an example :
HP 654A (CF331A) Cyan Toner HP LaserJet CF331AC Cyan Toner
$303.32 $518.70
I would like to have more information about the item with generic packaging as it is not an item carried on www.hp.com

Thank you John, appreciate your immediate response. I did find out from the retailer that the "C" indicates that it is a "Contract" item, part of a contract program with the employer, and is priced by hp based on worldwide volume usage.
Confirmed to be a genuine hp product.
Thanks!

My guess is that one is a regionally locked cartridge for a different area. That may be why you cannot look up stats on it from the US HP website. That may also explain the price differance.
Judging from this post on Amazon it appears to be compatible with the M651:

What does this large retailer you purchase through have to say about the similar toner cartridge? Perhaps tehy have a better explanation than what the community here can provide. Share with us if you learn anything.
