Thank you for the update,
I appreciate the fact that you applauded my understanding of your concern, however, all of us here are only trying our best to help you out,
And while it saddens me that we couldn't fix this issue due to the nature of it being a hardware failure, I'm glad we could get to the bottom of it together.
If you wish to thank me for my efforts and help grow the community, please mark one of my posts as the Accepted Solution,
And do not hesitate to write back to me for any other concerns or queries as I'd be honored to work with you in the future.

For your information for any future querioes of this type, please let me share the solution with you.
After contacting HP support I learned that to successfully make the Slot 1 priority feature work you must set the paper and size types in the Tray 1 configuration as "Any Type" and "Any size" respectively. This is not mentioned anywhere in the user guide or troubleshooting information. Once I made these configuration changes, the Tray 1 priority feature immediately worked!
You might wish to feed this back to the people who write the User Guides? It would save a lot of time and frustration.

Thank you for the update,
I appreciate you getting back to us with the information as it would help the community,
That said, I've forwarded your feedback to the concerned team and they'll work on adding it to the user guide, eventually.
It's been a pleasure interacting with you, and I hope you have a great day ahead.
