Since upgrading to Windows 10, I have to manually re-set the automatic duplexing to 'Installed' in order to print on both sides. How can I have this setting remain in place?

Un-install the current driver which you have, restart the PC, then install the driver freshly. It should work for you.
Also, if you are using DISC for driver installation, then use online link from HP Site for driver.

Under Device & Printers, right click on printer and select Printer Properties. It will open a Window and under Genera Tab, check if Double Side is set to Yes.
If yes, then it should be printing fine, click on preferences tab >> Finishing Tab >> Check the option "Print on both sides", apply and Ok Ok.
