Q5942X toner cartridge
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought a bad 42X toner cartridge that I can't return because I don't know where we bought it, but it's not printing with the standard quality I expect from HP. Graphics and text are both "light."

It's brand new, and I tried every setting I could, but nothing makes it print normally. Our printer tech finally said to install a new toner to see if that took care of the problem.

Sure enough, it's printing perfectly.

I'm trying to find out how to return the bad cartridge to HP for a new cartridge, if that's possible. Does anybody know?

HP warranty on cartridges is until it reads low. If the cartridge is nearly or completely full, you can contact HP technical support and they will replace the cartridge for you. Not sure if you will need POP for this or not. You will likely need to submit a config page and a supplies status page to verify the level of toner in the cartridge.

Worked. Tech named Angel took care of me, said new toner would be sent next week. Thanks, again. Saved me $300.
