Laserjet 4100TN

My 17 year old workhorse HP Laserjet 4100TN has seen better days and is nearing its end of life. I’ve had it serviced and parts replaced several times over the years but the tech says it’s on its last legs and he’s having trouble getting replacement parts. The constant paper jams between legal and letter trays and misfeeds/overfeeds are slowing down and sometime halting productivity at my small law office. Need a replacement soon but worried the newer products won’t live up to the old. I print anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 or more pages a month. It varies constantly. I also must have 2 trays, one for letter and one for legal sized as we frequently print 100+ page document packages that contain mixed sizes.  Also it will be connected to a PC running Windows10.  I do not want or need a multifunction printer. Just something reliable, sturdy and capable of handling my volume.

Additionally, I’d like to stay with HP but am concerned about the newer models having constant software/firmware updates which I know from experience with a home multi function model was horrific.

at 5000 a month the obvious choice is one of the M607/8/9 series. In terms of firmware, the world is a different place with new security threats emerging and many updates are to make sure your printer is secure.
