Hi there,
I'm scanning photos and I have the MFP M477fdw. Yes I know I know the MFP M477 is a business oriented multifunctional printer but it is what I have available at this moment.
I install all drivers and software but when I use programs like Gimp or Foxit PDF the DPI values and other options are limited. Then I installed the HP Scan and Capture App from Microsoft store and it allows me to scan up to 1200 DPI.
So I just want to know if you have any other alternative on software or a special technic for photo scanning with this type of printers.
Talking about printing photos, yes I know a laser printer is not the best option to print photos but an inkjet, anyways the M477 print photos to dark so, do you want to share experiences on how to setup the software and printer for photo printing?

Hi,
I suggest trying the HP Scan Extended program to scan photos:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
It provide up to 1200 DPI when setting the source as Flatbed Glass.
You may also set the scan type as Photo and the size as Automatic, then the software should detect and crop multiple photos automatically.
For printing access the printer properties / preferences and open the Color tab.
Try changing the Color Profile to sRGB, Photo or Vivid and check which profile provide better results for your photos.

Shlomi
