I get consistant black dots in the far right margin of my prints, all somewhat faded, all 6.5cm apart.

I looked at other posts suggesting to look for particles, but I couldn't seem to find anything when I checked. I also tried the cleaning page, with no luck. I see a lot of people suggesting to buy new toner, but my toner is fairly new, so I don't see why that would be considered a good "solution". printer.jpg

you can suspect the toner cartridge or fuser assembly.  to me, that looks like a toner cartridge thats leaking or has a defect on the drum.  take that cartridge out, flip it over and look at the drum, do you see the defect on there?  you can also try whats called a half cycle test.  print a single page through the MP tray, and BEFORE the paper hits the fuser (this takes a few tries) manually stop the print by opening the toner access door (stop it when paper gets pulled halway from the tray).  remove the toner and look at the paper underneath.  is there a defect? if so, toner is bad.  no defect? the problem is the fuser.

That is OPC drum issue, you are having some dirt on a drum that is leaving marks. Remove drum and inspect green OPC roller for dirt.
