you should start by checking the drum on the toner cartridge. see if there are any visable defects on it. Try swapping it out with another and see if the defect goes away. It could also be a defective fuser assembly. a half cycle test is a good way to see where the defect is happening. load a single sheet into the MP tray, print a one page doc and manually stop the print before its allowed to reach the fuser. the print should be stopped before its completely drawn into the unit. lift the toner up and look at the partly printed page, see the defect? the issue is probably with the toner. no defect? issue could be from the fuser. hope that helps.
