HP LaserJet Pro MFP M521dw

Hi,

In my printer, when removing the paper tray, there seems to be a black object/lever hanging down in the tray. I've attached two images, where the object is marked with a red circle. I would like to know whether this is supposed to be there or not.

Currently no issues with paper format A4, but errors with other formats.

Thanks in advance, let me know if you need more information.

Kind regards,

yes- that is supposed to be there. That is the flag sensor that lets the printer know the paper in the tray his lifted to the proper height so that it can be picked up and fed by the rollers.
