I don't use this printer alot. In fact, I haven't used it in years and it still has the original HP "teaser" color laser cartridges in it. I needed to print something in color and I get the attention light (on but not blinking) as well as the green ready light (also not blinking). I pulled the power as the manual says but it cycles when power is restored and still the error lights remain. Any thoughts?
This literally has less than 20 pages printed on it.

That does indicate a "Fatal Error" for the printer, but let's try something:
1. Do you hear any motors run, or does it try to rotate the carousel?
If the fans run, but the carousel doesn't turn, can you check to see if anything is stuck in the carousel or try to move it a little by hand to see if it my free-up?
2. Can you check the cartridges to make sure they're seated fully? Can you remove any or all of the toner cartridges?
Since you haven't used it in years, it may be that the toner cartridges have become locked up internally (the toner may have settled to form a hard block preventing the cartridges from turning) and causing the error.

It sounds like it's cycling through its warm up. It sounds normal. It just has the attention and the ready lights on. I tried a hard reset, which did nothing. So, I took it to a printer repair shop this afternoon. I'll post what the problem was when I find out. Hopefully it might benefit someone else.
I literally have run maybe 20 sheets through this printer. I'm hard pressed to believe its a board, etc. Hopefully it won't be expensive to fix.
Thanks for responding.

The repair shop I took my printer to said that the carousel is not turning properly. (Having not used the printer in several years, I could see how a moving part might need to be cycled or something.I can't find much of anything about this on the old interweb, so I don't know if it servicable or not. The shop says I will be pushing $300 before I'm done. I know it is out of warranty, but since it has so few sheets printed on it, I don't know if there is anything HP would be willing to do to help me out or not.
I hate to throw good money after bad, but I'm thinking about buying a used CP1025nw or a refurbished unit. I will keep my unit as a parts machine. (There shouldn't be anything worn out on it...)
So: A) Any thougts?
B) Is this machine worth keeping, or should I get a new model?
C) Is there anything that can or should be done to get the carousel working properly?
