My CP1525nw color printer is leaving magenta streaks on the left of every page I print. I have attempted to clean the printer using the built in clean function several times, I have removed and cleaned the amgenta cartridge, and I have also deleted every single HP piece of software from my machine and reinstalled the drivers for this printer. The magenta strekas are still there. They are always on the left of the page.
someone had this problem a few years ago and an auto-responder seems to hve responded with a link to a wrong page
Is there a solution or a working link pleaase?

Well it is obvious you are upset. I would be to. Lets make this real simple. You have a bad magenta toner cartridge. Cleaning will not work since the wiper blade inside the toner cartridge has probably gone bad causing toner to leak out that one side and cause the issue. Replace the magenta toner with a new original hp toner and all should be fine.

Thanks for that Prof!.
I was only posting here because if there is actually something wrong with the printer, I was reluctant to pay good money for a new magenta cart, only to find the problem still there. And this was after I thought I would try HP tech support and some pin head there postulated that the unit wasn't fusing properly! (he didnt think it relephant that it would only affect the red cart)
Then I came here and got two reply bots which identified completely the wrong key words and spat out various 'try putting air in the tyres' wild goose chase responses. One of which actually said 'call HP TS and see if you can get some other technically illiterate pin head'!!

It's been awhile since you posted this problem. Did you receive a satisfactory resolution? The reason I ask is because I have a similar problem: a cyan streak about 3/" wide running down the right side of my printouts. The rest of the page is clean and all colors print fine. I cleaned the rear feed roller to no avail. While searching this forum, I found a reference to the "transfer belt". I opened my cartridge tray and shined a flashlight inside. I saw the belt with a deposit of cyan running down the left side. Obviously, this is transfering to the paper and then fused to it. I see no way of cleaning it myself so I'll have to call my local service outfit. You may have the same problem. It's also possible to have a faulty cartridge as well. Especially if you (like me) are using other than HP cartridges (I am using OfficeMax since I bought the printer from them).

I will give you the same answer I gave the original poster. You have a bad cyan toner cartridge. In fact remove the cyan toner cartridge and odds are there will be a band of toner around the drum. The transfer belt cleans itself as it moves towards the front of the printer as there is a wiper blade which remove excess toner before it puts down another image to be transferred to the paper. Since it is only happening in the one color that tells us the belt is fine and the toner cartridge is the issue.
