CP3505dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've had my CP3505dn for quite a few years and the printing has been vitually perfect. But a few weeks ago, short (1' in length) streatks began appearing on the right side of the page evenly spaced about 1" apart.

Need to know how to resolved this problem. Thank you.

New toner should solve the issue. Did you find the date on the box. I assume the toner was not actually from Amazon but one of their vendors who had some old stock on hand.

Need more information or post a copy of the defect. If only in 1 color I would lean towards a bad toner cartridge. You could go to diagnostics menu and print the pq troubleshooting pages to see if that gives you more information.

Here is the Windows Printer Test Page with the evenly spaced 1" streaks on the right side of the page and a vertical smudge on the left side of the page. I already performed the full calibration.

My PDF will not upload. What kind of image is uploadable?

Pdf should upload but if necessary take a photo and upload a jpeg. Did you read my post? Is the defect in only one color? If it is then that toner cartridge has an issue. 1" defect spacing usually refers to two rollers both inside the toner cartridge.

I took your suggestion bought a new black toner cartridge (the 1" streaks are all in black). The streaks are actually much darker with the new cartridge. I surmise that the toner cartridge is not the problem. Do you have any other suggestions?

I took your other suggestion and took photos of the test pages, sent them via buetooth to my laptop. But when attempting to upload them received the following message:

"This file is too large. The maximum file size is 1,000K; this file is 4,307K."

Previously, when attempting to upload the test pages in pdf, received the following message:

"Error Code: Invalid File Type"

I finally succeeded in uploaded the images (the 1st is with the new black toner cartridge and the 2nd is with the existing black toner cartridge): New Black Cartridge Toner.png

This is a strange one and it could be something with the black slot or how the cartridge is sitting in the slot. Do the following. Go to the troubleshooting menu on the printer and choose the item disable cartridge check and select and when the printer says ready, diagnostics mode, open the front door and swap the black and cyan toners. Now close the door and then go to the information menu on the printer and choose the supplies status page and select. The printer will print a page. Are the lines still in black or are they now cyan? Also you may want to take a lint free cloth and clean the edges of the transfer belt (black belt in front cover). Once you clean the side you see move the belt by the edges so you can get to the other side to clean.

The lines were still black after switching the black and cyan toner cartridges. After wiping the transfer belt with a lint free cloth, the lines were still there.

Are these new hp oem toners or aftermarket or refills.  The reason I ask is simply the only place those lines can comes from is the black toner cartridge. Since you move the black toner and have the cyan toner in the top slot that means it can not be the slot and since I assume the printing on the page was now cyan that indicates to me that the issue is still the black toner cartridge. Another test you can perform is with the printer still in diagnostcs mode of disable cartridge check remove all toners except the cyan toner in the black slot and print the same page again. Odds are the black lines will now be gone. You can then remove the cyan toner from the black slot and put the black toner in any slot but the black and print the same page again and if the lines are present that tells me it HAS to be the black toner cartridge and nothing else.

When printing the page with only the cyan cartridge in the black cartridge slot, the page printed totally blank. I printed the page with only the black cartridge (in the magenta cartridge slot) and here is what printed:
