LaserJet P2035
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I love the old HP LaserJet printers because they never say die and the toner cartridge lasts forever. I have two of them, the P2035 and a 1200 series, neither of which has the n so they're not network printers. But I'm thinking, Can I simply put a Jet Direct card in there, configure them accordingly and install them on my network using an Ethernet cable? I'm not even going to try to make a wireless printer at this point,  I can just place it near the router and string an Ethernet cable  to it, and give it an IP address.

If everything goes according to plan (yeah, right) anyone on the network could print to it. The other thing I'm wondering is if Windows 10, which we all use, will be compatible with older LaserJet printers.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Both printers you have will NOT accept a jet direct card since there are no EIO slots for them. For the P2035 you could use a usb external jetdirect or as some others have done is purchase a P2035N formatter card from ebay and replace your non network formatter with a network formatter. As to the HP1200 there is no network formatter and and the only way is with an external usb jetdirect. For windows 10 you will want to use network since many hp legacy printers support usb 2.0 and windows 10 likes usb 3.0 so many people have had their P2035 and 1200 printers fail with windows 10 upgrade and updates.
