LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw
macOS 10.12 Sierra

Hi -

I have spent the last 3 hours dealing with this printer.  I was finally able to reset it to get it to connect to the same wifi network as my macbook pro (high sierra 10.13.2).

Now, I simply can not get the laptop to connect to the printer.  Will not print.  Mac doesn't even see it as an available printer.

Any options?

Thank you,

Craig

@applenoose

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand you are unable to connect via wireless on your HP LasetJet Pro MFP M127fw,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you installed all relevant software and driver of your printer on your device?

Did you make use of the wireless setup wizard?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

Before you set up the printer on your wireless network, gather the network name and password, and then turn on your router, printer, and computer.

   NOTE:

If you need to find your network password, go to Find Your Wireless WEP, WPA, WPA2 Password (Mac).

Step 1: Prepare for installation

Before setting up the printer on your wireless network, gather the network name and password, and turn on your router, printer, and computer.

  1. Gather the following items:

    • Network name: The network name is the SSID (Service Set Identifier).

    • Network password: The password might also be called the WEP key or WPA security passphrase.

    • A computer connected to your wireless network

    • Internet access: HP recommends broadband Internet access such as cable or DSL for software downloads, using Web Services, and getting printer updates.

  2. Make sure the router and computer are turned on, and that the computer is connected to the same wireless network to which you want to connect the printer. Turn on the printer and place it close to the computer and within range of the router during the setup procedure.

  3. Disconnect any USB or Ethernet cables from the printer.

Step 2: Connect to the wireless network

Connect the printer to your network with the Wireless Setup Wizard so the HP installer can find the printer during the installation.

  1. On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button , and then press the Wireless Menu button.

  2. Press the Wireless Setup Wizard button, and then select your network name (SSID) from the list of available networks.

  3. When prompted, enter your wireless security passphrase (WPA, WPA2, or WEP).

       NOTE:

You must enter the exact uppercase (capital) and lowercase (small) letters. Otherwise, the wireless connection fails.

  4. When you finish entering the WEP key or WPA key, press OK, and then press OK again to return to the home screen.

Step 3: Install the printer software

Download and install the most current version of your printer full feature software from the HP website.

  1. Turn on the printer.

  2. If your printer is connected to the Mac with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer.

  3. Go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, then select a method to identify your printer model, if prompted.
