I purchased a used HP Laserjet 4250tn printer.  I connected it to a pc that is running Windows 7 (64).  I connected it using a USB chord.  I loaded letter size paper in tray 2 and legal size paper in tray 3.  I did verify that the control menu on the printer does say letter for tray 2 and legal for tray 3.  I did not get a disc or anything for print drivers so I went to the HP site.  There were 3 drivers availabe:

1.) HP Universal for Windows PCL 6

2.)HP Universal for Windows post script(64 bit)

3.) HP Universal for Windows PCL5(64 bit)

I have tried installing each of the three drivers.  Once installed I have installed the drivers I have gone into the Devices and Printers>customize your printer>device settings and installed tray 3 and then set tray 3 to legal size.  Then in Devices and Printers I went into printing preferences>adjust print options>and under source I set it to printer autoselect.

After this, when I try to print a job that contains both letter and legal size pages the printer will just print everything letter size.  What else do I need to change to ge the printer to auto select the correct paper size?  Thanks

Ron

It may depend on the application which is associated with the document(s) you are viewing/editing/printing.

For example, with PDF documents, the Print dialogue will probably contain a "Choose paper source by PDF page size" checkbox:

That was it.  I can't believe I missed something so obvious.  Thank you so much Dansdaduk!
