I set a static IP on my new printer and it worked fine until sometime last week when I started having issues with the subnet it is in. Now I am locked out of the printer's web interface. How do I do a factory reset to defaults so that I can change the configuration? The LED panel is very basic.

The Cold or NVRAM resets are special codes that you press on the control panel when you boot the printer.  These resets differ from model to model and the specific steps are only posted in the Service Manuals.  No network connection is required.  This is how you clear bad network configurations and admin credential lockouts so HP is unusually protective about it.

Contact HP and verify that you have current support for your printer.  They can share the steps with you from there.  If not then contact a certified HP repair technician and ask them.  They might be willing to share the steps with you over the phone and save you a trip.

The admin password should unlock after 24 hours or so giving you a few more attempts.  However, if you have forgotten the password then an NVRAM reset is the only way to impact the credentials.

NVRAM resets can be found in Service Manuals which are privilaged resources for HP Repair Technicians.  Or you can contact HP directly via Chat or Phone and they can relay the steps to you too.

Is there no method to hard reset the printer on the device? The methods I see recommended require access to the web interface which I do not have. The issue is the printer has a static IP set, but the subnet where that IP is from has a problem. I therefore have no route to the printer. I need to reset it so that I can reconfigure it with another IP.
