Having trouble getting the printer to “enable” Wireless Direct.  I’ve attempted to enable both directly from the printer itself, and through the web browser.  Printer is connected to WIFI and has no issue printing from the computer or LAN, but when enabling Wireless Direct it just sits as “connecting...”.  I am also not able to get my HP Smart app to identify the printer when on the same network, but am able to print from iPhone through the AirPrint feature.  I’m assuming the app won’t identify due to it not enabling the Wireless Direct on the printer.  Any advice here???

@Travis84

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you are unable to connect to Wireless Direct.

Try the below steps to fix this issue:

1. At the product control panel, press the OK button to open the menus.

2. Open the following menus:

● Network Setup

● Wireless Menu

● Wireless Direct

3. Select the On option, and then press the OK button. The product saves the setting and then returns the control panel to the Wireless Direct Settings menu.

If the issue persists, update the printer firmware:

Refer this HP document to for the steps to update the printer firmware:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.
