hello, I have connected my printer to my linksys router, and used the utility "HP easy start"
My device was detected on my network, but when looking for software updates it was unable to install any.
I went through HP print and scan doctor, and picked "network wired" but alas, there was no luck with this either.
I would like any info on what next I should do.
Thank you for your time.

I was able to resolve the issue, I reset my router to factory defaults, and set its ip address assignments to also include the "static" printer ip address.
I then re-added the printer manualy on all windows computers using TCP/IP address option. All computers found the printer, and are able to print.
So fyi, the router did not see the printer until I added its static ip to the router table.

Yes, I want a couple of labtop workstations to connect to the printer, via the router. the printer is connected to the router by ethernet cable, and the workstations are wifi connected to the router.
I am able to print from the printer if I direct connect the ehternet cable to any workstation by manually adding its "static IP adress" but once I disconnect and reconnect the printer to the router, I am unable to get any print jobs through.
I am able to ping the printer's IP address when it is connected to the router, and my workstations on wifi.
is it possible that there is somthing up with the router?
That seems to be the only bottleneck that I am seeing right now.

Since you are connected via Ethernet the wireless is automatically disabled. You are connected to your router, only 1 IP address is allowed per device.
You can have USB and Wireless or USB and Ethernet but not Wireless and Ethernet at the same time. Not needed since you are already connected via LAN cable.

Well first off, I am pretty sure the 1022n only has network capabilities, there is no wireless function. That would come from the 1022nw model. second, I am fine with only 1 device (workstation) giving 1 print job to a printer at a time, that happens to have a router as a middle man.
Are you sure that I am only able to have a direct connect to any ONE laptop?
I am pretty sure I should be able to print from all computers, as long as the printer is connected to the router. pinging the printer in this fashion from all workstations is not a problem. I am just not sure what settings I need for the router to allow printing jobs to actually go through.
