I chose USA for my country/region when setting up the printer (I live in Jordan and bought the printer here. There was/is no option to select "Jordan". I'm trying to change the country/region to Jordan or somewhere in the Middle East so the cartridges listed for my printer (and default size) are appropriate (e.g. toner cartridges here are 207 but in the US they are 206). In the HP Smart software, the preferences to change this setting are greyed out. Toward the bottom of this page (http://register.hp.com/emea/flowPage/default/defaultExperience/en_GB/faq.do) there's a link for requesting a change to country/region (https://register.hp.com/emea/flowPage/registration/index.do?execution=e1s1&cc=AE&lang=en) but after filling in the form, it gives me an error message that the HP registration service is currently unavailable. Thank you in advance.

To the best of my knowledge selecting the region during setup does not affect what cartridges will work, it simply sets language and other defaults common to a region. The cartridge region is hard coded into the formatter and can only be changed by contacting HP tech support and obtaining a device specific code.

Thanks for the reply! Several threads seem to indicate that the region does have an effect on which cartridges work:

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Region reset is only done if the Printer is to be used in a country different from it's original country of purchase.
Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart App and try again.
Let me know if this helps.
