HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277
Linux

When I give a `cleaning page` instruction from the touchscreen, the sheet of plain A4 80g/m² paper that I carefully insert in tray 1, as requested, invariably causes a paper jam, because the machine cannot drag the sheet beyond a certain point.

Hence, the paper jam notification comes up and the operation cannot get completed. This is a regular issue. This occurs whether or not the `less curl` option is selected.

How can I have the `cleaning page` operation properly done?

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post about your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277 printer and would like to help.

I recommend you to perform the below steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a solution:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the paper jam occurs again then please perform the steps from this link. These solutions are explained in detail in this document: http://hp.care/2gLNmkU

Feel free to let me know the outcome. Good luck!
