hello,

until last week the printer worked normally (ethernet). Now it's assigning the default ip. i can print with usb cable connected (i don't want that)

before: auto ip 192.168.100.7

now: auto ip assignes 169.254.x.x and setting it to manual ip (router's ip class) still doesen't work. it's not even responding to ping

network report: ipv4 & 6 say it's ready and shows the ips // link speed auto 100Mbps // everything looks good

router huawei hg8245h (provider's fiber to ethernet convertor)

could be the printer's network adapter that got fried?

If it does not obtain an ip address in your range, then you have an issue with the network card, cable or connection point at the router. Try another cable or port on the router and if still no joy, then the formatter may need to be replaced. Are the link lights on the formatter and router on and blinking or off.

the lights are blinking

i've changed the cable and the port in the router. it still assigns 169.254.x.x but i've set it to manual and it works 🙂

don't know what is the exact problem but now i care less because i can use it :))

thx for the advice, u're the best
