HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M651 series

Have a M651 which was working fine, now shows jam code 13.b2.d2 everytime you try to print from Tray 2.

Paper is never picked up from the tray nor fed into the paper path.

Printing from Tray 1 still works fine.

No paper found  anywhere in the paper-path.  Tray 2 lifts okay. Tray 2 motor test seems to work the

same as on our other M651 (spins the separation roller counter-clockwise). Removed the front plate

on Tray 2 to see what happens when a print command is sent; the separation roller spins, I marked the

side of the pickup roller to see if it ever moves, it never moves, I could not see the feed roller.  It looks

like the feed roller drives the pickup roller when the feed roller moves counter-clockwise so, if the

pickup roller never moved, I assume that the feed roller never moved counter-clockwise.

Have changed out the DC Controller and Registration Assembly but still not fixed.

Double checked all the connections on the DC Controller too.

Replaced the Tray 2 pickup assembly to fix the problem.  If you look at the end of that assembly (where the solenoid is), you will see a small spring that controls the motion of the arm that lowers the pickup roller to the paper.  The spring was broken so, the pickup roller never lowered.

If the Tray 2 rollers never turn then I would look for a Tray 2 Feed Solenoid and check to see if it was picking, (activating).

The solenoids are picked by the DC  Controller, so if it is not working then you can check the wiring between them.

Thanks for reply.  I stripped it down to check the feed assembly and the feed drive assembly.  Gears and solenoid

look fine; all wiring looks okay; found a foreign object under the feed assembly and removed that; put it back together and still get 13.b2.d2.
