I'm running Catalina now, and just downloaded the HP Easy Start driver dated Oct. 9. It still doesn't automatically scan from the flatbed when there's no document in the feeder.

@HMRJr, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

I understand that you are having issues with scanning after the OS update. Recommend you to try the steps suggested in this HP Forums post.

 

Also, try using the HP Smart App to scan. Refer to the document HP Printers - Using the HP Smart App (Mac) for help.
