p1102w and photosmart 7520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After changing the router and modem, cannot access my laserjet p1102w nor the photosmart 7520. I had this problem several years ago and I think I had to remove the cartridges and repower them. I do not remember the exact sequence but seems like the issue was the printers were not clearing out the setup and not going back to factory defaults. Seems like there was a program from HP I downloaded to clear them out. Anybody got ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hey Sandy- thank you for the prompt response. I am a former Field tech for HP (Tampa office) and have done all those troubleshooting tips. I had a similar problem several years ago with same printers when my ISP changed. They could not be taken back to Factory Settings regardless of what I did. Back then I found a weird resolution. Someone told me that even after powering off, they maintained current settings in the cartidges and toner. I think the sequence was to remove them while printer was still on then unplug it, power back on, reinstall them and it would be back to Factory. But this time it would not take at all. I got tired of fooling with them and just ordered another printer.

Thank you again for your response and I will give you the kudos also

PS- Does HP have any better software than Easystart or Print and scan doctor?

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you are getting connectivity issues after changing the router.

Restart the computer, printer, and router

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the router.

  2. Turn off the printer.

  3. Close all running programs on your computer, including the HP software installation window, then shut down the computer.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to the router, then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.

  5. Turn on the printer.

  6. Turn on the computer.

  7. Try installing the HP driver and software again.

Let me know how it goes.
