Laserjet Pro 400 M4o1dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have an ideapad 720S-14IKB using Windows 10 and cannot connect to my Laserjet Pro 400 m401dn.

i have been through all troubleshooting options I know (*e.g. print & Scan Doctor) but to no avail.

Everytime I download the relevant drivers and try to install, the process takes a long time only to fail at 99% saying something like cannot connect.

I can't understand why this is so difficult to remedy. Any advcie welcome!

kind regards

Shane

Hi @cweed77,

On the printer tap the Setup button and select Service, then look for HP Smart Install, if you see such option disable it and restart the printer.

On your computer open the Control Panel and select Devices and Printers.

Remove any listed HP printer by right-clicking it and selecting Remove Device, then restart your computer.

Next, Right-click the start menu and select Run, paste the following and press OK:

printui /s /t2

Remove any listed HP printer, be sure to select the 2nd option to remove both driver and its package.

Now reinstall the HP Software and check for any difference.
