When I make a copy using the printer, the quality is poor, but if I scan the same document into the computer and then print, the quality is fine.
It doesn't matter if I use the document feeder or the glass. A quick copy from the printer will always be poor quality. it's too light and details are lost. But if I print a scan of the same document (either scanned from the glass or the feeder), the print quality is much better.
I've messed around with the settings on the printer, and nothing seems to make a difference. Is it not possible to get the same quality from a quick copy as I get from a scan and print?

Hello, you may need to remote into the machine and check the scan/copy settings. To me it looks like the dpi is lower when making a copy, whereas the scanning is set to a higher dpi, hence the better quality. Usually I have seen hp default the copy settings to 150dpi. So I would try to look at that setting, as well as, compare to the scan settings to see if there is a difference.
Hope this helps....
