I'm using my LaserJet Pro 8725 (i.e. 8720) on the network.
From the manual pg. 9 - "Using shortcuts on the printer control panel, you can create a collection of the tasks frequently used from all features available in the function folders. Once shortcuts are created, you can access to them on the Home screen or through the Shortcuts tab."
I have been unable to figure out how to creat additional short cuts that I can access at the printer.
I have under scan - email/networkfoloder/Computer/USB
Under Computer I have - My PC / Computer not listed.
Under My PC I have - Scan short cut (This works fine, but it creates a leter size pdf file)
*** I want to create a shortcut to permit me to copy leter size pdf files sometime from the flat bed without having to control it from the PC. ***
How do I create an additional shortcut to print legal size scans when I want to from the control panel?

@PJD-, It's great to hear from you again.
I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.
As you mentioned the issue still persists after trying out the steps.
I have checked the records and you cannot create a custom icon to scan legal size from your printer.
You can only create shortcuts to access Fax, Photo, or Copy.
Refer the printer user guide for more information.
Note: Refer page 9 for more information.
I'll watch your reply!

Hello @PJD-,
Welcome to the HP Forums.
I would be happy to help you with your Officejet Pro 8725.
I understand that you are not able to create an additional shortcut to print legal-size scans when I want to from the control panel.
Can you please let me know are you trying to make a copy or scan?
Create and use shortcuts
To quickly access your most used printer functions, create shortcut icons that display on the home screen of the printer control panel.
-
Touch one of the blue function tabs, such as Fax, Photo, or Copy, and then select the icon you want for a shortcut.
-
Touch and hold the icon until a green menu bar displays at the bottom of the screen.
-
Drag the icon to the green bar, and then release it.
A new shortcut icon displays on the home screen.
To delete shortcuts, touch and hold the shortcut icon on the home screen, drag the icon to the red bar, and then release it.

I am trying to create a short cut for scanning.
I'm not fully understaning your instructions. I went to the scan tab pulled down the "Scan to Computer" icon to the green bar and it create a new icon on the home page of the control pannel but I still don't know how to modify & rename this new icon to create a short cut for legal size scanning from the flat bed.
