LaserJet M1217 nfw MFP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Direct printing from computer to printer works fine, scanner to printer prints very light. Changed copy light/dark settings to darkest and still prints light thou gray areas are a "bit" darker. Bulb track seems to move fine.

I question the brightness of the bulb, maybe it is just me but I think it would be brighter.

I did the full reset as specified in other questions, any help is appreciated.

The issue just seems to be with the printer's Copy mode (button). Scanning just from the printer shows the issue (light printing) but scanning into a PDF works fine and printing from the computer works fine.

I did all the steps in the link you provided except replacing the printer/copier.

The unit and computer were shut down for a good week while we were on vacation, I did do a bunch of Windows

updates when I truned it back on but that should have no effect at the printer unless Microsoft is truely taking over.

Thanks

Tony

Got it, the quality was set to draft. I do not know if that the default. I set it to Text as that is what my wife the lawyer does the most.

Many thanks
