I just want to know if my printer will work if it only has the black ink cartridge in it?

Thanks for your answer, but that's not what I'm asking. I know that I can print with black ink only but I want to know if it will work with only the black ink cartridge. I don't have any cartridges in it at the moment and I'm planning on buying some but I want to be sure that I can buy just the black one as I only need to print black and white documents. I don't want to waste money on color ink if I don't have to.

Most of the printer with two ink cartridges can operate in single-cartridge mode. It should work for your printer too.

I would suggest you try printing just by having a black ink cartridge in the printer. If the printer prints an alignment page, it means your printer support single cartridge mode printing. If the printer does not print the page, it means it does not support.
