HP LaserJet 4050 Printer

I bought the HP Laser Jet 4050 printer back in 1999. I want to get rid of the printer now but I've read that some of these machines have hard drives that record everything that's been printed.

1) Does this printer, from 1999, have a hard drive?

2) If yes, what is the most secure way to have the hard drive erased prior to disposal?

Thank you.

If your printer has a hard disk it will be mounted on an EIO card and screwed into one of the eio slots in the rear of the printer. It was very rare for this model to have come with the eio hard disk and even more rare for one to be added. The eio slots are the same that contain the network card if you had the N model or added one later. If the eio slots are covered by a metal plate with two screws then you do not have one.  Attached is a picture from the user manual
